At the OR AL Convention held in Jun 2010, a resolution was passed recognizing an Oregon Department of American Legion Riders.

On March 2nd, 2009, Oregon Post 34 voted to sponsor a chapter of the American Legion Riders. So Chapter 34, Oregon American Legion Riders was formed. Director Harry Spencer was elected to lead the local chapter. Also present at the formation was Oregon Riders President Larry Mathews and Oregon Vice President Dale Benzel. This brings a total of four American Legion Riders Chapters to Oregon - LaPine, McMinville, Newport, and now the Bay Area.
