 ALR Members,
This a a letter I'm sending to every Post in Florida. Please help me spread the word on this project.
My name is Mike Kirchoff and I'm the Commander of Post 356 in Lynn Haven and the Pony Express coordinator for the State of Florida. The Pony Express is a means to gather donations for the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.
With your help we can make use of the Pony Express concept to deliver donations to the Department of Florida Commander at our July Convention. The Amercian Legion Riders throughtout the State are participating by holding dedicated "American Legacy" rides, drives, and charity runs this spring and summer in their own community, and carry the proceeds to the Department of Florida Convention. I understand many Posts in Florida do not have a Legion Rider Chapter however this should not deter any Post from participating in this worth while National fund raiser. Florida has over forty five Legion Rider Chapters and one can be contacted to ride by your post and pick up the donations as they ride towards Orlando next year. You can also mail your donations to the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, Department of Florida, PO Box 547859, Orlando, FL 32854-7859. Every Post that donates to the Legacy Scholarship Fund will be recognized at the Department Convention.
After the Department Convention I will be on of the Pony Express Messengers riding to Reno, Nevada in August to present to our National Commander the money we raised from Florida.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

RALRICWelcome to RALRIC! This section has been set up to allow ALRs in various areas a more targetted means of communications than the NALRIC and ALR, Inc. message boards.
It is "experimental" - but should serve the intended purpose. Bear with!
